We've noticed that some 2011 Camaro convertibles are not being delivered by the dealership with the mounting bolts for the tonneau cover. We recently took a look at one of these Camaro's and came up with these instructions on how to install the cover. We highly recommend that you take your vehicle in to the dealership to have the mounting bolts installed (check your Camaro first to make sure they are not already installed). While the installation is quite simple, it's always a good idea to have a professional do it for you instead.
If you are going to try to give it a shot yourself, here are some easy instructions to follow:
Step 1) You are going to need a few tools. A pry tool, a 10 mm wrench and a T30 torx.
Step 2) Pull off driver side rear molding.
Step 3) Pull off passenger side rear molding.
Step 4) Pull off center rear molding.
Step 5) Using the pry tool, remove the top plastic push rivet behind each rear seat.
Step 6) After the plastic push rivet is removed, insert the mounting bolt into the hole.
Step 7) Once installed, the mounting bolts should look like this. These are the bolts that will hold the tonneau cover in place.
Step 8) Here is another view of the mounting bolt from the rear where the nut is installed.
Step 9) Repeat the process in order to install the passenger side mounting bolt.
Step 10) Replace all of the molding removed in steps 2, 3 & 4
Once the mounting bolts are in place, the tonneau cover can now be installed and removed easily! The cover prevents the roof from flapping in the wind at high speeds, and also gives the car a nice finished look.
