Simply insert  batteries and the remote is ready to work for you!   If you have lost or damaged your original  DVD remote, this is an original replacement part you need.  This will ONLY work with the original DVD unit that came from the GM factory. If you have an aftermarket system (such as an AudioVox, Sony or Invision) this DVD remote will NOT work for you.
